Percentage of patients aged 15-65 at the start of the measurement period who were between 15-65 years old when tested for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Numerator
Patients with documentation of an HIV test performed on or after their 15th birthday and before their 66th birthday
The measure can be completed in any of the following ways:
- Clinical Decision Support: Any of the following Clinical Decision Support rules are completed:
- Screening for HIV in Adolescents and Adults at High Risk
- Screening for HIV in Adolescents and Adults not at High Risk
- Screening for HIV in pregnant women
- Text in Chart: In the Confidential, Plan or Assessment text box contains the phrase "HIV Screening done"
- Imported Items: An imported item's name contains the phrase “HIV”:
Denominator
Patients 15 to 65 years of age at the start of the measurement period AND who had at least one outpatient visit during the measurement period
Denominator Exceptions
- Patients who die on or before the end of the measurement period.
- Patient should be inactivated in demographics and marked as "deceased"
Denominator Exclusions
- Patients diagnosed with HIV prior to the start of the measurement period
