On the desktop of your main Amazing Charts computer, click the Windows search button and search for “Amazing Backup”. Right click on the app and select “Run as administrator”.
Click “Yes” if prompted.
When making a local backup, there are several settings that can be configured. These settings can be viewed by clicking “Advanced Settings”.
- Exclude Import Items – Checking this box will omit your Imported Items from the local backup. This is optimal for clients who have a large number of Imported Items.
- Exclude Images – Checking this will omit any patient pictures if any are set on your patients’ charts
- Check database for errors before each backup – This is an error checking option that will ensure the Amazing Charts database is healthy. It is recommended to keep this box checked.
- Check Encrypted file for errors when finished. – This will unpack the final backup file to ensure it is formatted correctly. It is recommended to leave this box checked.
- Send confirmation message on successful backup – Checking this box will deliver a message in the Amazing Charts inbox on the user selected when a backup is completed.
Once the options desired are configured, click “OK” to save your changes.
Click “Backup Now” to start a backup manually. NOTE: This process may take a while depending on the size of your database and speed of your main computer.
You will be shown a prompt once the backup is complete. Click “OK”.
To verify the file is on your local computer, navigate to the folder listed in the step above in Windows and look for a .ENC file with a date modified of the date and time you started the backup.
You can configure the local backup to run every 24 hours at a desired time. If this is enabled, it is recommended the time be set for hours outside of your normal office hours. To configure this, click “Set Backup Schedule”.
Check the box “Turn on Auto-Backup” and enter the desired time for the backup to run. Click “Reset Next Backup” then click “OK”.
Click “Save” to save the configuration changes and exit the backup program.
