Version 12.4.1 Release Notes - Beta

Highlighted Enhancements

Release 12.4.1 (target release date 06/30/2026) focuses on Maryland HB 812 compliance controls (disclosure + “exclude sensitive data” across print/export workflows), ePrescribing usability improvements, and multiple high-impact fixes across installs/builds and medication/refill workflows.

A new Disclosure of Health Information confirmation dialog has been added to applicable print, export, and interoperability workflows to support Maryland HB 812 compliance. When initiating a disclosure that may contain abortion care or other sensitive health information, users are informed that such data is protected by Maryland state law and cannot be released without written patient consent.

The dialog requires users to explicitly choose whether to include or exclude sensitive data before proceeding. The Exclude sensitive data option is selected by default, helping prevent unintended disclosure of protected information. Users may continue with the selected option or cancel the action.

AZ-17 Notify user about Disclosure of Abortion Data - State of Maryland

Disclosure of Health Information Dialog

Before releasing, printing, or exporting patient records, the system may display a Disclosure of Health Information dialog. This message alerts users that the patient’s medical record may include abortion‑related or other sensitive health information protected under Maryland state law.

Users must select one of the following options:

  • Include sensitive data Includes protected information in the disclosure (written patient consent must be on file).
  • Exclude sensitive data – Removes protected information from the disclosure.

Selecting OK proceeds using the chosen option. Selecting Cancel stops the disclosure process.

This control helps ensure compliance with state regulations and supports appropriate handling of sensitive patient data.
