How can I access MEDfx ASP hosted version 4.0.4 used by clients with interfaces with Epic EMR/EHR?
MEDfx 4.0.4 uses the Java plug-in version 1.8_331 which requires use of MS Edge run in Internet Explorer mode along with browser and Java certificates added.
1. Transfer Java installation file and certificate files to computer needing access from:

2. Install Java 1.8_331.
3. Configure the Java Control Panel as follows:
Security tab - Check box for Enable Java content for browser and Web Start applications.
Security tab - Select High under Security level for applications not on the Exception Site List.
Security tab - Select Edit Site List... button and Add button to enter the MEDfx URL of https://pm.medfx.com/{customer code from Hubspot} and select OK button.
Security tab - Select Manage Certificates button and Import button to browse for the certificate files (medfxcom.crt, medfxcorp.crt, harris.crt) transferred to the computer in step 1. Select Close button once added.
Advanced tab - Make sure Use TLS 1.0 is selected under Advanced Security Settings in the settings list.
Select OK button.
4. Create a shortcut with the following Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" https://pm.medfx.com/{customer code from HubSpot}
and following Start in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application"
5. Configure MS Edge browser as follows:
Select ellipses (...) at upper right of Edge window.
Select Settings from the menu.
Select Default browser from the Setting menu.
Under Internet Explorer compatibility select Allow to the right of Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode)
Select the Add a page button to the right of Internet Explorer mode pages and enter the MEDfx URL of https://pm.medfx.com/{customer code from HubSpot} and select the Add button.
Select ellipses (...) at the upper right of Edge window and Close Microsoft Edge.
6. Add browser certificate using the following steps:
a. Open the Microsoft Management Console using Start -> Run -> MMC.
b. Select the File menu and then Add/Remove Snap-in...
c. Select Certificates in the Available snap-ins menu and then the Add button.
d. Select Computer account and then Next.
e. Select Finish and then OK.
f. Expand Certificates (Local Computer)
g. Single right-click on Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder.
h. Select All Tasks and then Import...
i. Select Next and then Browse.
j. Browse to the folder where you downloaded certificate file medfx2026.cer, select it, and then Open.
k. Select Next, Next, Next, and Finish.
