How To Access Built-in Patient Education for a Diagnosis / Problem
Amazing Charts has Problem based Patient Education through the Merk Manual and the National Library of Medicine built in as part of the standard EMR software.
- Navigate to the Patient's Summary Sheet tab.
- From the main screen highlight the patient's name in the Patient Lookup and press the F6 function key.
* Please note: you can also Right Click on the patient's name and choose Open Summary Sheet, or double left click to open the chart and then click on the patient's Summary Sheet Tab at the top of the screen to access the tab.
- From the Problems List at the top left of the window, Right Click on the diagnosis / problem you wish to obtain Patient Education for.
- Choose from the dropdown if you wish to access the Merk Manual Professional or Retrieve Patient Education (from the National Library of Medicine).

- Click on the Hyperlink for the option closest to the diagnosis / problem you are searching for.
- Right Click on the education piece in the window and choose Print from the dropdown.
- If you wish to save the educational piece for quick reference later, click Print and then choose Print to PDF option and save to your documents. You can also save to your Amazing Charts Practice Documents. For more details, refer to How To Access and Utilize Amazing Charts Practice Documents.
